I think its important for Communication majors to study design because its a big factor in communication itself. In public relations and advertising, there are alot of designs that go into the advertisement of what the ad may be, and in media production lets say someone in the music industry may want a design for their album cover, or a producer may want to open a new record company and need a design for that. Designs are everywhere in communication! Why not know it?!
I've seen alot of designs in my 21 years of living, but one of my favorite designs is LG. Which stands for the company Lucky Goldstar, who also uses the LG as a symbol for Life's Good. The thing I like about it is that it is a face where the G is going around the L to make it look like a face and the L is made to look like the nose. But what really got me is that the G over the L kind of looks like another eye, but an eye that is winking. So the whole design gives off this positive feeling, that life is good, winky face.
Good design matters, because if you have a boring or simple design it may not attract people, or the people you want it to attract, and then it wont help for business. & You always want business to go be good !
